Andel's Mjorin Guide:

Special thanks goes to Andel for the following :

There are a couple ways in to Mjorin, the Funhouse and the Clubhouse...but since we cannot discuss the Clubhouse because it can be considered secret information, we will suffice to say that they come in close to each other.

You cannot bring anything. No gear, no IH, no coin, nada. Mentalists and Healers arrive with no disciplines and must relearn them at the trainers

You start out with orcs, bears, deer and giants at approximately level 15 (for monsters)...compare it to going to Aleria only a little tougher. Since you are naked when you get there, this can be very difficult. Since you start in the middle of a field, run to the building Mjorin Forest Town and close the door behind you. Once inside you are relatively safe. Now you need a weapon. The only two readily available are spear (staves skill) and crossbow. Hope you have Martial Artist skill or you will never kill an orc that strong. Once you get a weapon, you can kill 10 times faster, but again, you better have skill in one of those two weapons.

The store sells minor gear (minor meaning shirt, boots, shortsword and dagger...the worthless kind), but no cash, and you cannot sell the spear or bow, it gives you no cash for those. There are trainers, but the healer will not revive you. There is a locker, but it does not work either.

I suggest having a Mentalist meet you just before entering to cast shields on you as well, since a horde of giants can stop you the moment you enter. Not sure if the bank works since we spent a couple days there and could not generate any actual coin.

I will try to send more later.

Andel Notes #2 :

Money: There are very few ways to get money. On the rare occassion a spear (1 in about 25) will be worth 2 coin when sold. The other ways to earn cash are to make your way to the north area of Mjorin. To do this, you will need to go to the far northeast corner of the south area, and walk into water behind the red gem trader. This will bring you out in the middle of a large body of water, make your way to the west and north to find North Town. The city itself is locked and the key will cost 10 coin to open. Good luck, since you are most likely broke. To the south and a little more west is an island with stairs going down. That is the prison. If you are fast enough, you can run down and open a few doors (if not already open). The prisoners remind me of the Martial Artists in Cobrahn, they will come after you fast, and they outnumber guards 10 to 1. However, if you can outrun the prisoners, stay alive and "hear" a guard die and search it "before" it rots, you can get a shield. These shields can be traded on the far side of the Northern area to the far East (just above where you came in from south area, behind a wall). The shields trade for a longsword (yes, the cheap kind), which will sell for 10 coin. Congratulations, you can now open the door to north town and you know how to start earning cash.

There is a portal that will return you to Nork inside of North Town. The key is sold for 10 coin (again with needing money) at the store in this town. Get it. You can then set a recall at the healer (#nam, recall), so that when you die, you will not have to come back in from Nork. Since you lose whatever you are carrying when you come to mjorin, you will not want to have to start over every time you die. Don't worry, doors open remain opened. The downside to this is that when you get injured the small heal potions sold at the store will not help you a great deal to recover your hp, so either take a healer (notes on how to get spells below) or have a lot of free time on your hands to wait for hp regen.

Now that you have gotten some of the basics out of the way (a way in and a way out of Mjorin), you will need to get serious about money and armor. In southern area, there is a small hole in the ground to the far southwest. Jump down to meet the Denaba...these will kill you given the chance. There are also Thumpers, Rockmen and more. All here to see how fast you will die. The good news is that one in about 50 kills will drop either a gem or a ring. The rings can be imbued by higher level mentalists and make a nice change from bracers and twigs. The purple gems can be taken to the red gem trader for that gem, followed by the armor trader (just to the west of red gem trader) for the best armor you can get outside of the dragon lair. Not great armor, but better than nothing. Anything worth having ties, so each party member will need to go get their own. Good news...the armor sells for 250 coin and the banks work, so if you have time, make and sell some armor for future visits.

Spells: If you are a Mentalist, Fighter Mentalist or Healer, you can get a few spells back while in Mjorin. You must see each of the trainers (2 in towns, others found outside or in a lair or dungeon). I highly recommend spending the 10 coin per trainer to get these back. Just remember, you do not have prot spells are armor, so don't cast fireball on yourself. Healers will be able to get mend and critcure, protassault and assault, as well as vision. Mentalist classes will be able to get enmiss, fireball, protice, door, darkness and detect.

Training: Other classes can train at their trainers as well.

Keys: Every door that is locked has a key. The key to Nork portal is at the store in North Town. The key to pumphouse is found on gnolls (when you jump into the crack to get to castle entrance). The key to Gnoll Castle is found on the very rare occassion on orcs in southern part of mjorin. There is a key trader in the prisons (he wants a double traded longsword, easy to figure this one out...just double trade) for a platinum key (we died to dragon before determining what this did) The key found off of a prisoner opens a door to another key trader and to a portal to the Black Dragon. NOTE: Three of us went in, three of us died, three of us lost con and hp. Dragon is not about to let you out until you kill him or you die. Keep this in mind when you decide to jump in there.

Remember this is a work in progress. Updates will come and everything in Mjorin requires you to do a mini quest to do the next thing.
