| Warning! Fating is a drastic step and can do irrepairable damage to your crit! Fating is only fun until someone gets hurt. Do NOT use this knowledge to hurt someone else or Sysop will hunt you down. If you fate too much, you can always reroll. My best advice is just not to do it. What is Fating? Fating is the ability to randomly change any stat, attribute or ability of your crit. Feeling lucky? How to Fate your crit? Drinking from the Fate Pools of Frore, drinking from bottles filled with Fate Water from the Pools, using Fate Cards from the Fate Card Seller in Frore and drinking Dion bottles in Cobrahn. How to get Fate Water into bottles? Open bottle, empty bottle, fill bottle and close bottle. Leaving such bottles lying around is a favorite trick of PK'ers so NEVER drink a bottle off the ground unless you are sure its from one of your kills. Why Fate your crit? If your stats are really poor, trying for that "Super" crit and recovering from eats are good reasons. Consider rerolling as an option. Where are the Fate Pools? Go SouthEast of the East Gates of Frore till you see a stairs surrounded by walls. Go down and then proceed North to a room with an altar. Go West through a secret wall passage and then South and West through a doorway. Go NorthWest until you find another stair and go down. Follow the passage until you see three pools of Fate Water. Drink or fill your bottles there. Where is the Fate Card Seller? You must be 15th level or larger to use Fate Cards. First of all, you need a key, usually found in the Fate Pool area, then you head for the North Gate of Frore, turning East at the wall before you go through the first gate, head along the path til you come to a drop down, then jump in, then head SouthEast in the water. Then you follow the waterway around as it goes West until you come to a junction, then head South. There is the door to get in, head West through another door, then North through another door. The Fate Card Seller is in there. Beware, there is sometimes a huge Mentalist in the room before the Seller. He has ESpear and ShockWave hitting for around 400 damage. The Seller's room is twiggable. The Cards cost 50K each and do not tie. A new type of PK'ing is to Fate others with the Cards. The crit casting the Fate disc with the Card will be Fated as well. A good tactic is to run if you see someone you do not know flashing Fate Cards. Better safe than Fated. Where is Dion? Good question. Dion roams all over the lands in Cobrahn in search of valuable rings and gems. Dion will only trade if there is no danger of being attacked by monsters. You will have to kill off any monsters in the vicinity to make the trade. What are the effects of being Fated? The effects are random, not controlled by any gear and maybe good or bad in effects. Below are some of the random effects. Remember I told you so no crying after you Fate yourself. You feel more skilled. (gain a percentage of skill in a random skill. More original skill = higher skill bonus) You feel a surge of energy. (if psi user, EP gain +1/4 to +1/3 of original) You have a serious change of conscience. (random alignment change to any alignment.) You have made a powerful enemy. (reduces a random stat/skill to 1/2 of original stat/skill. You feel weaker. (Strength stat is reduced.) You feel your whole body shift to another race. (random race change to any race.) You feel less experienced. (reduced in XP by a percentage of original XP.) You feel your breasts grow and your facial hair disappear. (change in gender from Male to Female.) You feel less agile. (Agility stat is reduced.) Your sack seems heavier. (you gain gold in your sack) Several gems drop to the ground. (just as the message says, look on the ground.) Your will is weaker. (Willpower stat is reduced.) You feel more experienced. (gain a percentage of XP based on original XP.) You feel less inteligent. (Intelligence stat is reduced.) You are healthier. (Constitution stat is increased.) You have gained fabulous new knowledge. (Succor disc is added. If a Ment Fated Succor, then Succor Bracers can be imbued.) Your will is stronger. (Willpower stat is increased.) You feel wiser. (Wisdom stat is increased.) You have lost a little Wisdom. (Wisdom stat is reduced.) You feel more agile. (Agility stat is increased.) Your breasts shrink and you grow facial hair. (change in gender from Female to Male.) You feel more combat able. (gain perm HP.) |
